The sea is a source of many exciting voyages and thrilling adventures. However, it can be very perilous if one travels without the proper marine equipment. The advent of technologically advanced navigational devices makes voyaging by sea both easy and safe. Sea navigation started more than when Phoenician seafarers sailed using primitive charts and their observation of the night sky to determine their locations and the direction they are heading to. Ancient sea navigations were very difficult and extremely dangerous due to the inaccuracy and unreliability of the tools that mariners use.
